Board of Trustees

GOVERNANCE

St. Paul’s Episcopal Day School is a mission of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. The Vestry of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church delegates authority of overseeing the school to the school’s Board of Trustees. The Board consists of a Chairperson, President, and 15 elected Regular Trustees, plus up to three additional Special Trustees which the Board may deem as necessary. Each Trustee is elected for a three-year term. The Board is charged with setting school policy, employing and evaluating the Head of School, monitoring the financial condition of the school, and guiding the school’s future. The Board of Trustees meets monthly and holds additional special or ad-hoc meetings on an as-needed basis.

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear St. Paul’s School Family and Prospective Families:

Whether you are a current family of St. Paul’s Episcopal Day School, or a prospective family considering the school, I would like to take an opportunity to tell you why I believe in St. Paul’s, and why it was the choice for our family.  St. Paul’s provides an education experience for your child that is unrivaled in the Central Texas area.  A rigorous academic curriculum, a loving Christian environment with Christian education classes, diverse co-curriculars that begin at age two, public speaking experience that begins at age three, interactive technological experiences, community service, fine arts, and athletic programs are all a part of the St. Paul’s experience.  Combine these attributes with the distinguished International Baccalaureate PYP Program, and you have the confidence of a complete, well-rounded education for your child.

I am excited and honored to be serving as President of the Board of Trustees this year.  The Board is made up of very talented and gifted individuals who care deeply about St. Paul’s. Each brings a different and unique perspective and outlook to the group.  A list of these individuals and their accomplishments is listed on this page.

We have an excellent Interim Head of School in place for the 2010-2011 school year.  Debbie Bennett has taught at St. Paul’s for a number of years.  She and her husband, Kenny have two children, one who is a St. Paul’s graduate, and one who still attends school at St. Paul’s.  She brings to the table a knowledge of St. Paul’s, it’s faculty and staff, and the children.  She is excited to serve as interim this year and the Board is thankful for her leadership.

You can feel confident that your children are in the best of hands with Debbie, our faculty and staff, and the Board of Trustees.  Each has a passion for this school and wants the best overall experience for your child.  I invite you to take a look at the older classes of St. Paul’s School, specifically, make it a point to come to 6th grade graduation in May.  You will be impressed with what you see.

If you have any board-related questions, please feel free to contact me or any of the Trustees.  Their phone numbers and email addresses are listed in the school directory.

Have a great year!  GO PACERS!

Sincerely,

Shanna Mattson

President, Board of Trustees
