Janice Monson
  Personal Information:

     I was born in McAllen, Texas and moved to Maracaibo, Venezuela when I was just six months old. I lived there until I was seven when we moved back to Texas. Growing up, I never wanted to be a school teacher because I thought school was boring. It is now my personal mission to make school fun for my studnents by offering opportunities for challenging work and interesting activities.

     I am married to Craig and have two children, Bree (4th grade) and Brock (9th grade). We live in China Spring with our dog, Chocolate, and our cats, Sugar and Shadow.

    Some of my favorite things are: vacationing at the beach, going to the movies, cooking (and eating), reading good novels, hanging out with my children and husband.

Educational Information: I graduated from Texas State University with a BFA in Graphic Design. I attended an alternative certification program to receive my teaching certificate. I am certified to teach pre-K through 8th grade.
Professional Information:This is my sixth year to teach fifth grade and my fifth year to teach at St. Paul’s. I am so excited to be a part of this community! I have attended numerous trainings including IB Level I and Level II training. I also attended and presented at the NCTM Southern Regional Conference in November of 2004. I was pleased to be presenting the concept of St. Paul’s City with a focus on the bank.
