This Week's Homework

Tuesday-  Write Spelling Words 3 times each.  Underline the digraph ck in red.  Example:  back  back  back , Practice Flash Cards +0 (Quiz on Friday)

Wednesday-  Math Sheet, Practice Flash Cards +0 (Quiz on Friday)

Thursday-  Write five rhyming words for each Word Wall Word.  Example:  save- gave, rave, behave, cave, wave, Practice Flash Cards +0 (Quiz on Friday)

 

Classroom Information
Language Arts

Literature-  We will read from our Literature Anthology.  We will begin with Quack.  Mrs. Evans will help with these lessons this week as I begin a Reading Assessment for each student.  This will help us determine how best to enhance your child's learning. 

Spelling-  The children did a great job on their first Spelling Unit! It is a big change from Kindergarten but they handled it so well.  This week we will begin a unit focusing on words that end in the digraph ck.  We will have a test on Friday.

This Week's Activities

This week we will discusss what it looks like to be a friend.

We will compare and contrast "friendly" behaviors and "not friendly" behaviors.  We will create a Venn Diagram to display these behaviors.

We will read a variety of books about friends that show positive behaviors of friends and negative behaviors of friends.

We will interview a friend to learn more about them. 

We will begin to think about what makes each of us unique.
