Important Academics
Language Arts

The focus in fourth grade is on writing with grammar and spelling instruction. Students also read content-related stories and novels.

Mathematics Everyday Mathematics encourages students to use a variety of strategies to solve problems. Fourth graders study geometry, place value, multiplication & division, decimals, fractions, percents, estimation, perimeter & area, rates.
Social Studies Fourth graders focus on North America from Pre-History through the forming of the United States of America. Connections to present day are made as often as possible.
Science Many exciting scientific topics are studied including rocks & minerals, weather, electricity, magnets, natural disasters, and ecosystems.

Our Role in St. Paul's City

Bookstore – Fourth graders collect and sell used books several times each year usually in conjunction with our Kinder Kafe.

Magazine – Students collect magazine submissions and learn how to make a page layout to create a school wide magazine.
