IB Parent Night

What does it mean when we say St. Paul’s is an IB school?
What are your children doing in the classroom?
What is expected of them, both at school and at home?

The answers to all of these questions can be found at our St. Paul’s IB Parent Night, TOMORROW, February 12 at 6:30 in the Parish Hall. Join us as we engage in activities similar to those that happen in your child’s classroom.

Please let us know TODAY if you are planning to attend AND if you will need childcare.

Open House & Moving Up Night

Our annual Open House & Moving Up Night will take place February 19 at 6:30 p.m. This year, we will have the school open and teachers will be in their classrooms to talk with both current and potential parents. Don't miss this exciting opportunity to see what your child will be experiencing over the next few years.

Prospective Parents are invited to come either to our Moving Up Night or to a day time open house on Wednesday, February 20. Parents who choose this option will be able to see children engaging in the classroom activities as well as have a chance to meet the teacher.

If you know of someone who might be interested in coming to St. Paul's, we have open spots in our three year old class and in 1st through 6th grades. We'd love to send an invitation to anyone you know. Please call or e-mail Leah Delafield with prospective candidates.

IB in Action

Attitude of the Week ~ Creativity
~ To use your imagination in solving problems
and presenting information~

Sixth Grade Exhibition Unit ~ Each year as a culmination of all of their experiences in our Primary Years Program, the sixth graders are required to participate in the design and implemention of their own unit of study. Students take the central idea and choose an area of personal interest to explore. This year, sixth graders are working under the central idea "People use their passions and talents to help others." Each student has selected a topic of interest and is researching to find background information and to discover problems that exist both globally and locally. After completing a research phase, students will design an action plan to help bring about a solution to the problem. Students are working with members of the community as they complete this project.

Project Suitcase

The City Council is collecting “slightly used” suitcases and duffle bags for foster children to be distributed through Child Protective Services.  The child will be given a suitcase to keep his or her belongings and special items with them when being removed from their home. (Normally they would use trash bags). Please drop off your “slightly used” suitcases in the Parish Hall any time in February!
