Annual Fund Update

Thanks to all who have so generously donated to the annual fund. We have received $53,290 which is 71% of our goal. We are tracking the progress of parental donations in Town Meeting with a chart on the double doors leading to the parlor. Any class who gets 100% parental participation by May 15 will receive a free dress day and ice cream party. Students have also been encouraged to make small donations from their own money if desired. Those students who bring their own money will receive a small treat from their classroom teacher. Thank you to the following donors:

IB in Action

We have hit the home stretch. Almost all of our classes are beginning their final units of study. Here's what you'll be seeing in our various classes.

3s - Our three year olds will be studying how plants and animals share the same food source. They will look at simple food chains and talk about who eats what.
PK - PreK has finished the pet portion of their unit on caring for pets and plants and will now move into the part where they learn about caring for plants.
Kinder - Our kindergarten students are finishing up their unit on matter and will finish the year with a look at community helpers. They will begin that unit this Thursday at Region 12's annual Careers on Wheels.
1st grade - Our first graders have begun a look at materials and recycling and they will also introduce a new unit on push/pull with a focus on magnets.
2nd grade - Our second graders are well into their unit on plants and how plants help humans and how humans can help plants. They will finish the year with a look at drama.
3rd grade - Our third graders began their final unit on poetry last week. They will be reading and writing many different forms of poetry during this unit.
4th grade - Our fourth graders have just completed a unit on rights and responsibilities and will be moving into their final unit about the earth's natural resources, including a look at rocks and minerals.
5th grade - Fifth grade has begun an extensive study of life in a rainforest. They will look at the cycles of nature, the animal and plant life, and how we use elements of the rainforest in our everyday lives.
6th grade - Our sixth graders just presented their exhibition units last week and did a fabulous job. This week, they will begin their final unit on milestones in our lives. This unit also incorporates a study of genetics in science.

Yearbook Photos

Last Chance to “Get that Great Shot!”….
and send in your photos for the 2007-2008 Yearbook!

If you take photos in May of your child’s class, an event like Graduation or Kinder Reflections,
an End of the Year Party, or any event related to St. Paul’s School, we would love to
“SNAP them up” for the yearbook!

Please send all your photos by email or post mail immediately after the end of school to secure that they will make it in the Yearbook!
Remember, the more photos you send with your child’s adorable face, the more their picture will be in the yearbook!

Digital photos are preferred as we plan to do the yearbook on computer this year.  However, if you only have prints, please mail them to Karina Deaver in an envelope to 208 Castle Avenue, Waco, Texas, 76710.  Make sure to write the names of students, class and teacher, and the school event and date.  We apologize but the prints can not be returned.
OR
Email your photos to kjdeaver@hot.rr.com
Thank You!
