Two Year Olds In the 2’s class we will be trying to refine gross motor skills.  We will also be learning about colors and numbers through our activities.

Three Year Olds

The 3’s class has very similar activities to the 2’s, but the tasks begin to get more complex in order to challenge them.

PreKindergarten

In PreK, we begin to play games that have structure and guidelines.  This is to help the children learn how to achieve a common goal within certain parameters.

Kindergarten In the Kindergarten we begin some of our team games so the children can learn how to share duties.

First and Second Grades In 1st and 2nd we begin to refine the children’s ability to work together in the team environment.  We also continue activities that mimic the motions of sport specific activities.  For example, we may play a game that includes target throwing.  This could help a football or baseball player become more accurate with their throws.

Third and Fourth Grades In these grade levels is when the children begin to play sports for St. Paul’s athletics.  Occasionally, we will have a practice in class.  If not, the sport specific activities continue.  In these grade levels I also begin giving the students more responsibility in deciding the direction of the class.  We will do projects related to designing the class structure, and suggestions on the activities the class finds the most fun.

Fifth and Sixth Grades In the 5th and 6th grades the expectations for behavior and physical abilities is much higher.  By this age I want to see cooperation and courteous behaviors toward not only their team, but the opposition as well.
