Linda Petty

Hello!

I am Linda Petty,

and am excited about

returning to St. Paul's

for a second year!

Come and learn
a little
about me...

Personal Information:

I was born in Rocky, Oklahoma but raised in Winters, Texas, home of the Blizzards. Where I graduated from May of 1983.

The Lord has blessed me with a wonderful husband, Steve Petty and four sons: Marcus (23), Zachary (15), Justin (15) and Travis (11).

On my spare time I enjoy playing tennis, swimming, and spending time with my family.

Educational Information:

I am a graduate of the University of Mary Hard-Baylor, UMHB, with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a minor in Business Administration.  While attending school, I substituted for Copperas Cove ISD, where I discovered my passion for teaching.  Shortly after graduating, I returned to UMHB for my teaching certification.

I proudly served my country in the United States Army, Active Army Reserves and the Active National Guard Reserves from April 1990 - September 1999. I was one of the first women to be trained in a combat MOS (Military Occupation Specialties) and attended my initial training at Fort Bliss, Texas, after completing basic training. I was trained as a 24T, Patriot Missile System Operator / Maintainer during Desert Storm / Desert Shield. During my time in the service, I had the pleasuring of serving in several capacities from a 71L, Administrative Specialists, Mail Room Clerk Supervisor, and 31C, Communications Chief. This is where I was first introduced to computers and found my passion for computers.

Professional Information:

I am excited about returning to St. Paul's for a second year. This school year I will be serving in a dual role: Computer Teacher for Pre-Kinder thru 6th Grade student and Director of Technology.

Before coming to St. Paul's I owned and operated my own business. I also taught BCIS and programming at Lorena High School. I was also Varsity and JV Tennis boys and girls Tennis Coach, and Cheerleading Coach (JV). I started the first BPA (Business Professionals of America) student organization and thoroughly enjoyed my students.

I was also a Master AFTB (Army Family Team Building) Instructor for military spouses, military personnel, and DOD employees.
